Thoughtful recommendations for enjoyment

I hope this is visible. The writing on the tea tray says 'adding some hot water gives you a better taste'. I followed the directions but I am a little tempted to put the suggestion to the test and try the dry tea.

Tolerance

I love a country where tree hugging is acceptable.

Isn't it beautiful?

This my first image from Shanghai. It's a fire extinguisher box at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art. That's not to say there was nothing else noteworthy. ( more coming) I just thought that it was exquisite.

What am I Doing??

Well it's three and a half days until I leave for Ragdale. I am very disorganized. I should be doing the BAS statement which falls due while I am away. I should be tidying up my affairs but I am much too busy uploading music to my computer and washing possible travel clothes in the new washing machine. If you follow this blog for long enough you might one day see the old washing machine star in a film and then, and only then, will you understand my uncharacteristic interest in this new domestic implement.

New Work

Walking

I'm walking! Still in the cumbersome cast/boot but at least I can move easily even if slowly. I have made some new work which i haven't photographed yet. Different from the work I made when I was immobile and very much a continuation from the geometric work I showed in Cactus Milk in 2006.

This is my year for development and consolidation of work. No competitions until the work is more fully resolved.

Limbo

I'm in the studio doing miniscule amounts of work. I feel like everything is on hold. I still have limited mobility and we have decided to move to the Southern Highlands of New South Wales in late June. It's a bit over 4 weeks until I go to Ragdale so I'm looking forward to the opportunity to really focus on my work again.

I think the enforced break will be a good thing and should give some freshness to my practice. In the mean time I am listening to the very wonderful Nick Cave and wishing I could have a Jenny Holzer spoon and watching the squally rain from the tail of Cyclone Hamish water the garden.
